The latest edition of the U.S. National Institute of Standard and Technology’s (NIST’s) Face Recognition Vendor Test (FRVT1:N report shows improvement among newly submitted algorithms in biometric accuracy, size, and speed. The global market for biometrics is set to have an average annual increase of over 15% in the next 10 years. NIST is in front of setting standards for the technology to further development in a responsible manner.
