Dave Hayden Collins

Environmental Engineer, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)

Dave Collins is an environmental engineer at MIT’s Department of Nuclear Science and Engineering, where he researches expanding uranium mining and establishes nuclear reactors for electricity generation in Australia. After research in Australia showed that electrical and electronic equipment cleaning practices account for nearly 50% of unsafe respirable particulate exposures at mine sites, he developed a patented compressed air system to safely remove and contain these hazardous particulates. This technology can also be applied to military equipment and research facilities.
