The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) provides guidance on what to do when ordered to shelter in place from an incident. This includes chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) incidents (including hazardous material spills), active shooter events, and several natural events. The guidance also provides actions to take based on different types of common structures.
