Anna Lang is an internationally recognized earthquake expert who works to apply advanced technologies to improve disaster prediction and response. Lang completed her Ph.D. in structural engineering at the University of California, San Diego focusing on collapse behavior of masonry buildings. She is an expert on non-engineered structures and has performed numerous post-disaster studies. Lang was an Intelligence Community Postdoctoral Fellow awarded by the Central Intelligence Agency. She is the founder of a technology consultancy that automates the collection of building diagnostics across urban areas. Lang is based
in San Diego and is a member of the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) National Advisory Council and is acting chair of the Structural Resilience Council for the Structural Engineers Association of California.
