Assistant Professor of the Department of Petroleum Engineering at Texas Tech University

Dr. Qingwang (Kevin) Yuan is an Assistant Professor of the Department of Petroleum Engineering at Texas Tech University, where he is developing his research programs on in-situ HydrOgen generation from PEtroleum Reservoirs (HOPER), natural HydrOgen Production from Earth Subsurface (HOPES), CO2 and hydrogen geological storage, and methane leakage from orphaned wells. Before joining Texas Tech University in 2020, he worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Stanford University from 2017 to 2019 and at University of Regina and Saskatchewan Research Council from 2016 to 2017. He received his PhD degree from the University of Calgary, and MS and BS degrees from China University of Petroleum (East China), all degrees in Petroleum Engineering.
