Joel Hewett

Joel Hewett joined the Homeland Defense & Security Information Analysis Center (HDIAC) in 2017, where he applies a decade of experience in energy technology issues as a subject matter expert. He holds an M.S. from the Georgia Institute of Technology, in the history and sociology of technology and science, where he was the inaugural Melvin Kranzberg fellow. He also holds an A.B. in literature from Davidson College, where he was a John Montgomery Belk scholar. His book-length study of the offshore oil and gas program in the U.S., The Secret of the Sea, will be published by the Interior Department in 2017.
