Michael E. Zabala is an assistant professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering in the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering at Auburn University and the Director of the Auburn University Biomechanical Engineering Lab (Ph.D., Stanford University). His primary research focus is on the biomechanics of human movement as it relates to injury prevention and performance enhancement. Zabala’s current research pursuits involve sensing techniques for exoskeleton control, prosthesis alignment measurement and characterization, and ACL injury risk detection.
