Sutapa Barua, Ph.D., is an assistant professor in the Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering at Missouri University of Science and Technology. Her research focuses on engineering nanoparticles for drug delivery, designing polymers for early diagnosis of cancer and fabricating microparticles for regenerative therapy. Barua completed her doctoral work in chemical engineering at Arizona State University in May 2011. While attending ASU, she was awarded the Outstanding Research Assistant Award in Chemical Engineering. Since then, Barua completed her post-doctorate work at the University of California, Santa Barbara. During her time at UCSB, Barua was awarded the Daryl and Marguerite Errett Discovery Award in Biomedical Research.
