Modern technological advances are significantly improving the operational capabilities of the power grid in the United States, and some of these advancements could be applied to existing infrastructure. Small scale implementation on surfaces such as sidewalks, bike paths, parking lots and neighborhood roads would provide a better idea of solar road capabilities. To gauge large scale feasibility, further development and analysis of this technology is needed. That said, solar road technology shows remarkable potential.
